However, I am having the same problem even when all the channels' gains and faders are all the way down (including the master fader) All of the gains and faders on all other channels were pull all the way down. The gain was about 1/4 of the way up and I did not have any distortion when listening to the headphones thru the mixer (I was only monitoring through the mixer and did not have Sonor open at the time). I know I have my gain set up correctly because I only had 1 Shure SM57 mic plugged into channel 1. Sonor 6 (I know I'm old school) Producer, Windows XP I do know that ASIO only allows 1 sound card.

I have my driver set to WDM because I am also using an Edirol FA-101 as my MIDI interface (and until I get this mackie set up, my audio interface). Any suggestions would be of great assistance. Before that I wasn't getting any level from the mackie into Sonor. I first noticed this after I ran the audio profiler in Sonor to check for all audio devices. My guess is that I have a setting wrong in Sonor or have something wrong on the the mackie mixer. All of my gain structures are set correctly and my master fader on the mackie is set to 0 (however I believe the mackie firewire takes the signal pre faders). Also when I set the master level to output through the Onyx Mixer it is very distorted containing a ton white noise. The problem I am having is that when I arm a track for recording the level in Sonor is peaked out (buried in the red) and not moving.

All the drivers seemed to install correctly and are the mackie onyx is showing up for all 'ins' and 'outs'. Because communication apps will always default to your mixer's first two USB channels (1-2), your listeners will only hear the first two inputs unless you make a vital setting change. I just got a Mackie Onyx 1620 mixer and installed the firewire option. By default, Onyx mixers send each input as an isolated track to your computer (also known as 'multitracking').
